Within the next 30 days, the Liberty Motorsports Park (LMP) will close on the property to build its master-planned motorsports park in Cleveland. LMP officials say construction should begin within 90 days and be completed within six months to a year. The track will be located on the corner of Fostoria Road and Hwy. 105 by the old Timber Farm.
"The track will be designed to be the safest and most effective track design specification in the world. It has been consulted on by four time world champion, Doug Polen," said Marcus McBain, vice president of Liberty Motorsports Park.
The organization went public about their plans earlier this year. Since then, they have ran into some problems that have slowed them down, but they have worked to get everything back on track.
"Our approach with handling TxDot and the railroad company was not feasible. We were looking at what we wanted instead of what needed to be done. Last month, we decided to do what was feasible and within the next nine months, we will have everything under control with the railroad crossing at Fostoria Road," McBain said.
The LMP management team is currently working to provide one of the most attractive investment and public financing structures within the country. The team has created two distinct development areas which include: motorsports park development and the residential development.
"The park development provides for the actual construction of the motorsports park and the commercial real estate that is directly associated with it. The residential development provides for the specific development of all residential areas within the motorsports park and includes three phases/areas of development," he said. The three phases McBain is referring to are trackside condominiums, high margin homes
