Top drivers from the Rolex Grand Am Series and the AMA Superbike Series provide insight and stories from the tracks and paddocks around the world. Marcus McBain is the shows' co-creator and President of Liberty Motorsports Park. Marcus has spent the last 22 years participating in the motorsports' industry as both a rider and business owner. From 1987 until 2004, he actively raced and won dozens of races and championships. He competed at both the regional and national levels...earning two National wins. In 2002, Marcus opened his own racing school and in 2003 opened Racing Performance Services. Racing Performance Services was a motorsports services provider focusing on suspension technologies as well as rider training and agent services. In 2004, Racing Performance Services was recognized as the top Traxxion Dynamics products reseller in country. From 2003 until Marcus closed RPS in 2007 (to focus on the Liberty Motorsports Park project), RPS customers won over 700 races, regional and national championships, and set over a dozen track records.
Marcus served in the US Army from 1986 until 1992. He served in Desert Storm with the 1st Cavalry Division. From 1992 until 2002, he worked at the Manager and Director level for IBM, Deloitte & Touche, TransCanada Gas, PC Connexion, and Dynegy. In 2003, Marcus McBain started his first efforts in the Motorsports Facility field with an attempt to purchase Texas World Speedway from the late Richard Canole. Although unsuccessful in purchasing Texas World Speedway, he persevered and in 2004, Marcus decided to start his own facility and after meeting with City of Cleveland Texas officials in late 2005, focused on making Liberty Motorsports Park (www.libertymotorsportspark.com) the next great American Motorsports Park. Marcus has been the key driver in structuring the public financing and overall business structure of the project.
As producer and co-creator for the Liberty Motorsports Hour, Chuck Savage brings a passion for road racing spawned from several years of racing at the club level in the Sports 2000 and Formula Ford classes with British Competion Cars Ltd. and later on Sanders Racing. Also for Sanders Racing, Chuck worked on the pit crew of Greg Atwell’s Super Vee and Price Cobb’s Formula Atlantic during several successful seasons. As a driver, Chuck attended the Skip Barber Racing School in both Hallet OK. and Pocono Pa., as well as the famed British School of Motor Racing at Laguna Seca. Chuck has also done extensive testing with Chip Ganassi and Carroll Smith. As a broadcaster and entertainer, Chuck has over 30 years experience and currently works as an executive producer for Houston’s ESPN 97.5 The Ticket.
Shannon Matus started the Liberty Motorsports Hour as one of the first hosts and is the director of the National Auto Sport Association (NASA) Texas region. NASA (www.nasatx.com) is one of the leading event promoters in the Texas region for car enthusiasts. NASA events provide competition classes as well driver education. In addition to NASA, Shannon also promotes The Texas Mile (www.texasmile.com) in which participants can challenge themselves and their vehicles to find out “just how fast they are”. With many participants exceeding 200mph, The Texas Mile is fun for all to participate and watch. As both an event coordinator and a fan, Shannon brings a fresh and unique perspective to the show that is a key to the show’s success.
Steve McNamara is an avid Motorsports enthusiast with over 20 years of experience working in the Retail Automotive and Powersports Industries. Steve is a long time fan of Ford Racing and received his SCCA racing license certificate from the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving in March of 1999. In 2001 Steve co-founded Lone Star Track Days (www.lonestartrackdays.com) a regional motorcycle riding and racing school. LSTD is the sole provider of the Central Motorcycle Road Racing Association's licensing curriculum and Steve has served as the CMRA's President and is currently serving a second 2-year term on its Board of Directors. Steve has sprint-raced regionally on Supersport and Suberbikes along with motards, mini's and raced the CMRA Big Bike Endurance series for 3 consecutive seasons.
