To keep supporters and interested parties updated on the development of Liberty Motorsports Park, a series of “Frequently Asked Questions” will be posted on this website to keep everyone up to date on the progress and development of Liberty Motorsports Park.
Q: Why hasn’t the track been built yet and when is it going to be built?
A: The track has not been built yet for several reasons. The first and most important is that financing is only partially completed. We are very near completion at this point. Many investors have come to the table ready to start spending, but the management team of Liberty Motorsports Park will not allow construction to start until every facet of the track development is financed. The actual track itself represents less than 20% of the actual cost of the development. Liberty Motorsports Park will be a great motorsports park because of all of the amenities and services that will be offered, not just because a first-class road course is in the ground. Since leadership changed in September, 2 years of work has been completed in 4 months. With the required monies to start building about to go into escrow, it would be conceivable that the track construction will start as soon as Feb. 15th. We do expect construction to start around March 15th though.
Q: What about memberships and when can I sign up?
A: The Liberty Motorsports Park management team has just updated membership information. We have resisted putting up details of membership in order to not accept money. At this time we are still not accepting deposits on memberships. Once construction begins, membership deposits will be accepted and assigned to an escrow account that basically keeps the money earning interest and locked down until the facility opens for operations.
Q: What is the land plan for hotels and restaurants?
A: Currently we are shaping the land plan for hotels and restaurants that have inquired about working with the facility. We will tailor the land plan to the anchor development partners. Individuals that are interested in placing a restaurant or hotel on the property should contact Anne Vickery at 713.907.9680.
Q: What events are going to be run at Liberty Motorsports Park?
A: We are currently working though discussions with AMA ProRacing to bring a Superbike National event to Liberty Motorsports Park. This is a long process that has been favorably acknowledged by Keith Kizer and Ron Barrick of AMA ProRacing. We are also starting discussions to bring in a Nationally televised four-wheeled race. We expect approximately twenty-two weekend events to be run annually as well as approximately one-hundred driving and racing schools as well track days. Almost half of the year is reserved for country club members.
